Jewellery

I started making jewellery pieces before I could crochet or had learnt to make ceramics. I combined sourced porcelain beads with macrame, a craft I had mastered back in the 80s making pot holders. After I learnt the basic crochet stiches by making granny squares, I was able to use them as a method for intricate interwoven pieces. They were never planned but evolved as I made them, through experiment and happenstance, making each one unique and hand-made. Using different types of yarn, I introduced other materials like zinc chains. After doing a community college evening course in porcelain jewellery, I was able to make my own porcelain hand-painted pendants which quickly evolved into all things ceramic.
